Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know which gondola island section depth to order for my store?
Depth selection follows your product category. The 13-inch depth is standard for health and beauty care, 16-inch for drug and convenience, 19-inch and 22-inch for grocery and general merchandise, and 25-inch for hardware and auto parts. When in doubt, measure the deepest product you plan to front-face on the shelf and add at least two inches for label and price strip clearance.
What is the difference between a Tilt-In and a Drop-In Lozier shelf for island sections?
A Tilt-In (TL) shelf hooks into the Uprite slot at an angle and then tilts flat, locking in place without tools. A Drop-In (DL) shelf slides straight down into two brackets that are pre-installed on the Uprite. Tilt-In is the more common configuration for retail gondola runs because it allows faster height adjustment during resets without removing product from adjacent shelves.
Do Lozier Base Brackets need to match the island section depth?
Base Brackets are depth-specific and must match the island section depth in every section of the run. Ordering a 19-inch (19D) island section with a 16-inch Base Bracket reduces load-bearing capacity and creates a front-overhang condition that fails Lozier's installation specifications. Always confirm Base Bracket depth matches section depth before placing a mixed-component order.
What is the difference between a Starter and an Add-On island section?
A Starter is a complete, freestanding section with both end frames: two Uprites, four Base Brackets, two Base Decks, two Closed Base Fronts, a full set of rails, two back panels, and end trim on the exposed end. An Add-On attaches to an existing section and shares that section's end Uprite, so it comes with one Uprite, two Base Brackets, and no end trim, which is why an Add-On costs less than a Starter. Order one Starter to begin a run, then one Add-On for each additional section.
