Backroom and stockroom shelving does different work than front-room gondola. The load ratings are higher, the configurations are simpler, and the priority is density and accessibility rather than planogram compliance. GondolaFixtures.com carries Lozier S-Series and Widespan storage shelving for new backroom builds, and is one of the only active sources for new MEG Shelf-Space components for stores with legacy MEG systems already installed.
Lozier S-Series Storage Shelving
The S-Series is Lozier's integrated backroom shelving system. Pre-assembled steel uprights and one-piece shelves install quickly and adjust on 2-inch centers. Standard finish is galvanized (GLV) throughout. Sections come in 3-foot and 4-foot widths and depths from 12 to 30 inches, with heights from 48 to 144 inches. Load ratings depend on bracing configuration.

S-Series sections can be configured as open uprite (with crossbrace) or closed uprite (with back panel). Open uprite configurations are standard for most backroom applications. Closed configurations add a particleboard panel between uprite posts and are specified where back coverage is required. Sections can be connected back-to-back to create double-entry island runs. One uprite assembly is required to finish each run.
Lozier Widespan Storage Shelving
Widespan is Lozier's open rack system for bulk storage. Welded uprite frames connect with horizontal beams and adjustable shelf supports. No crossbracing is required. Sections are wider than S-Series, ranging from 48 to 96 inches, and shelf depths go up to 48 inches. Widespan is specified for backrooms that need to store oversized product, cases, or bulk inventory that does not fit on S-Series shelves.

Widespan requires a minimum of four beams per section (one each at top, bottom, front, and back). Shelf supports are required to stabilize beams. Aisle-side uprite posts must be anchored to the floor. Forklifts cannot be used with Widespan. Hand loaders and stackers are acceptable with reinforced (RE) frames. Floor anchors, back-to-back connectors, and floor protectors are available separately.
MEG Shelf-Space Backroom Shelving
GondolaFixtures.com is one of the only active sources for new MEG Shelf-Space components. Merchandise Equipment Group is no longer in business, but thousands of retail stores across the country still operate MEG backroom systems and need replacement uprights, shelves, and accessories that most suppliers cannot provide. We purchase through the company that acquired MEG's equipment and manufacturing capability, giving us direct access to new parts for legacy MEG installations.
MEG Shelf-Space is comparable to Lozier S-Series. Pre-assembled all-steel uprights, one-piece shelves, and traditional lance-style shelf mounting. Shelf capacity up to 600 lbs per shelf (UDL), up to 2,000 lbs per section. Available in particleboard, wire grid, full metal, and 51% perforated metal shelf styles.
