48" S-Series Storage Shelves

Lozier S-Series uprights are designed for the backroom shelving system and use a different slot pattern than gondola Uprites. S-Series uprights do not accept TL or DL gondola shelves, and gondola Uprites are not rated for the case-stack loads that S-Series is built to handle. Always order components within the same system and confirm the upright series before purchasing beams or decking for an existing installation.

S-Series shelf decking is available in wire, particle board, and steel panel configurations. Wire decking is common where visibility and airflow matter, such as cooler-adjacent storage. Particle board and steel panel decking are preferred for small-format cases and dense overstock where a solid surface is needed to prevent product from shifting. Decking must be specified to match the beam span of the bay.

S-Series shelf beams are available in spans from 36 to 96 inches. Bay width determines beam length, and all beams within a run must match to maintain consistent load ratings across the shelving system. Mixing beam spans in a single run creates structural inconsistency and is not recommended. Measure existing upright frame center-to-center spacing before ordering replacement or expansion beams.

Standard S-Series finish options are PLT (Platinum) and CHR (Charcoal), both of which carry standard lead times and are the correct choice for most backroom and stockroom installations. Special catalog colors are available but require 8 to 10 weeks for production and are typically specified only when a chain-wide program mandates consistent finish throughout the building. For most backroom projects, PLT or CHR will ship significantly faster.
