Every Lozier part number is a compact code that tells you which component it is, what size, and what finish. Learn the pattern once and any Lozier bill of materials becomes readable at a glance. This guide walks the pattern across the most common families so the next time a distributor sends you a quote, you can spot a missing rail or a wrong finish before you sign the PO.

The Pattern in One Sentence

A Lozier part number is prefix + size digits + optional feature letter + finish code. The prefix names the component family. The digits encode dimension (usually height, width, or a width plus depth combination). Any optional letter distinguishes a variant. The last token is the finish code, a two or three character abbreviation for the powder coat, laminate, or hardboard color.

Lozier writes the tokens with spaces on the catalog page ("TL 4 22 N PLT"). Our site and most BOMs collapse the spaces and put a dot before the finish (TL422N.PLT). Same part, different formatting convention.

Uprites (U, UH): The Structural Post

Prefix U followed by height in inches for standard duty. Prefix UH for the Heavy Duty Uprite. There is no "HD" prefix on Uprites; the Heavy Duty family is UH.

  • U84 PLT — Uprite, 84 inch, Platinum [cite: catalog p.15; inventory: LU84 PLT]
  • U96 CHR — Uprite, 96 inch, Charcoal Black [cite: catalog p.15]
  • UH84 PLT — Heavy Duty Uprite, 84 inch, Platinum [cite: catalog p.15; inventory: LUH84 PLT]

Standard Uprite heights per catalog: 30, 36, 42, 48, 54, 60, 66, 72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 102, 108, 114, 120 inches. UH heights are 72, 78, 84, 90, 96, 108, 120 inches. UH Uprites are a welded pair with an overall back-to-back depth of 5-3/4 inches [cite: catalog p.14] and pair with the Heavy Duty Base Bracket family in the same section.

Base Brackets (BB, BBH): The Foot That Sets the Depth

Base brackets set the section depth. Prefix BB for standard duty, prefix BBH for the Heavy Duty bracket. Format is prefix + depth digits + base height code + duty letter, then finish.

  • BB2206S PTD — Base Bracket, 22 inch depth, 06 base height, Spring Locking, Painted (standard). [cite: catalog p.18; inventory: LBB2206S PTD]
  • BB1906S PTD — 19 inch depth, 06 base height. [cite: inventory: LBB1906S PTD]

Read the fields carefully. S is Spring Locking, which is the standard mounting mechanism (not a "small" or "short" flag). Standard depths: 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31 inches. Base height codes: 06 = 8 inch base, LB = 6 inch Low Base. Base Bracket finish per catalog is PTD (painted, standard) with CHR as the only listed optional finish; Base Brackets are hidden under the base deck and do not ship in the full structural finish range. Depths 28 and 31 inches are rated for Heavy Duty use with a standard Uprite [cite: catalog p.18].

Load Easer (LEBB): The Supplemental Bracket

The Load Easer Base Bracket is a supplemental accessory, not a duty tier of the Base Bracket. Catalog format is LE BB 06 PTD, normalized in our system as LEBB06 PTD [cite: catalog p.34; inventory: LLEBB06 PTD]. It mounts halfway between the primary Base Brackets and adds to them; it does not replace them. Catalog rating: 1,100 lbs per deck on 13-19 inch depths, 1,300 lbs per deck on 22-31 inch depths, versus the standard Base Deck rating of 600 lbs on 13-19 inch depths and 800 lbs on 22-31 inch depths [cite: catalog p.34].

Standard Decks (SD): The Bottom Shelf

The base deck is the lowest shelf of the section. Prefix SD for Standard Deck, followed by width digit, depth digits, molding code, then finish.

  • SD422N PLT — Standard Deck, 4 foot, 22 inch depth, No Molding, Platinum. [cite: inventory: LSD422N PLT]
  • SD316N PLT — 3 foot, 16 inch depth. [cite: inventory: LSD316N PLT]

Deck depth codes: 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28, 31 inches. Width digits: 2 = 24 inch, 3 = 36 inch, 4 = 48 inch. Load rating is 600 lbs evenly distributed on 13-19 inch depths and 800 lbs on 22-31 inch depths [cite: catalog p.34]. A laminated-top Standard Deck picks up an extra finish token for the laminate before the deck color: SD 4 13 MR1S LAX PLT (13 inch, MR1S molding, Platinum laminate top, Platinum deck) [cite: catalog p.34].

Tilt-In (TL) and Drop-In (DL) Shelves

Merchandising shelves above the base deck use two shelf styles.

  • TL = Tilt-In shelf
  • DL = Drop-In shelf

Same layout as decks: width digit, 2 digit depth, molding, finish.

  • TL422N PLT — Tilt-In, 4 foot, 22 inch depth, No Molding, Platinum. [cite: catalog p.35; inventory: LTL422N PLT]
  • DL316N CHR — Drop-In, 3 foot, 16 inch depth, No Molding, Charcoal. [cite: catalog p.35]

Molding codes: N = No Molding, M13S, M35S, M55S, MR1S = the four Satin molding profiles [cite: catalog p.35]. TL shelves offer N, M13S, and M35S; DL shelves add M55S and MR1S. In practice, the vast majority of Lozier retail orders are N (No Molding); the other codes appear mostly on specialty ticket-molding, price-channel, or merchandising programs. If your project does not explicitly call for a ticket channel, N is the safe default. TL shelf depths: 7, 10, 13, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 22, 25, 28, 31 inches [cite: catalog p.35]. Do not read the trailing N as a shelf style; the style is set by the TL or DL prefix.

Back Extensions (BE): The Back Panel

Back panels use the BE prefix followed by nominal width digit, nominal back height, material letter, finish [cite: catalog p.21]. Single panels top out at 72 inches of nominal back height; taller sections stack two backs per the catalog pairing chart.

  • BE448P PLT — 4 foot section, 48 inch back, Pegboard, Platinum. [cite: catalog p.21; inventory: LBE448P PLT]
  • BE436P PLT — 4 foot, 36 inch back, Pegboard. [cite: inventory: LBE436P PLT]
  • BE430P PLT — 4 foot, 30 inch back, Pegboard, used as the top piece in an 84 inch Uprite stack. [cite: catalog p.20; inventory: LBE430P PLT]

Material letters: P = Pegboard, M = Marteck, ME = Econo Marteck, W = Woodgrain, PW = Peg Woodgrain, PM = Mirrored Pegboard [cite: catalog p.21]. On our platform, Pegboard, Marteck, and Slotwall are the everyday offerings; Woodgrain is special-order only. Back finish per catalog is PLT with IA1 (Oak Melamine), N/A, and VA7 (Chrome Mylar) as the other listed options.

Catalog two-piece stack table for section heights 78-120 inches [cite: catalog p.20]:

  • 78" Uprite: BE_36 + BE_36
  • 84" Uprite: BE_30 + BE_48
  • 90" Uprite: BE_36 + BE_48
  • 96" Uprite: BE_42 + BE_48

Rails (R): The Horizontal Structure

Rails tie the Uprites together horizontally. Prefix R, width digit, style letter, finish. Every Island and Wall section needs one Top, one Center, and one Bottom Rail; sections 78 inches and taller also need a Splicer Rail; sections 96 to 144 inches need a second Center Rail [cite: catalog p.22].

  • R4T PLT — Rail, 4 foot, Top, Platinum. [cite: inventory: LR4T PLT]
  • R4B PLT — Rail, 4 foot, Bottom, Platinum. [cite: inventory: LR4B PLT]
  • R4S PLT — Rail, 4 foot, Splicer, Platinum. [cite: inventory: LR4S PLT]
  • R4C N/A — Rail, 4 foot, Center. Center Rail finish is always N/A because the rail is hidden behind the backs [cite: catalog p.22; inventory: LR4C N/A].

Style letters: T = Top, C = Center, B = Bottom, S = Splicer. Rail widths per catalog: 2', 30", 3', 4'. Splicer Rails are not made in 2' or 30" widths; those widths use two Top Rails to serve as a Splicer [cite: catalog p.22].

End Trim (UET, BET): The Finished Edge

End trim closes the visible end of a run.

  • UET84 PLT — Uprite End Trim, 84 inch, Platinum. [cite: inventory: LUET84 PLT]
  • BET2206 CHR — Base End Trim, 22 inch depth, 06 base height, Charcoal. [cite: inventory: LBET2206 CHR]

Base End Trim in the current inventory ships in Charcoal.

Finish Codes: Standard Tier Plus Catalog Tier

Standard structural finishes carry the shorter lead time (usually 1-3 business days): Platinum (PLT), Charcoal Black (CHR), Cool White (W08), White (WHT), Gray (GRY), Silver (SIL). Base Brackets and Load Easers use PTD (painted) with CHR as the optional finish. Catalog-tier finishes carry an 8-10 week lead time and are non-returnable per Lozier's Terms of Sale: Sparkle Silver (QH3), Silver Vein (Q88), Classic Copper (N81), Black Wrinkle (QK5), Copper Vein (QL6), Black Rust (QJ6), Foundry (A37), Statuary Bronze (AA8), Oyster (A65), Tan (T76), Primary Red (R53), Poppy (POP), Hunter Green (G35), and others. Do not confuse Silver (SIL, standard tier) with Silver Vein (Q88, catalog tier); different codes, different lead times. Chrome Plated (BCP) is accessory-only and is not a valid finish on structural gondola parts.

Putting It Together on a Real Island Section BOM

Per the catalog Island Section page, a single Island Section INCLUDES: 1 Uprite, 2 Base Brackets, 2 Base Decks, 2 Closed Base Fronts, 1 Top Rail, 1 Center Rail (two Center Rails on 96-144"H), 1 Bottom Rail, 1 Splicer Rail (on 78-144"H), and Back Material [cite: catalog p.8]. So a 4 foot Island Section, 84 inches tall, 22 inch decks both sides, Platinum finish, Pegboard back on both sides reads as:

  • 1x U84 PLT (Uprite)
  • 2x BB2206S PTD (Base Brackets, 22 inch, Spring Locking)
  • 2x SD422N PLT (Base Decks, one per side, no molding)
  • 2x CBF for the base fronts
  • 1x R4T PLT (Top Rail)
  • 1x R4C N/A (Center Rail, hidden, always N/A)
  • 1x R4B PLT (Bottom Rail)
  • 1x R4S PLT (Splicer Rail, required at 78 inches and taller)
  • Backs, per side: BE430P PLT + BE448P PLT (the catalog stack for an 84 inch Uprite is BE_30 + BE_48)
  • Merchandising shelves per plan (TL or DL)
